Hi, I’m Andrew, and I work in marketing at Deako. One of the best perks of my job? Testing switches in my own home. Now, I know what you’re thinking—of course I’m going to gush about them. But that’s not true. I’m here to give you my honest, unfiltered take on the switches I’ve actually installed. Let’s dive in.
I’m a DIYer at heart, so installing the Deako Connectors (backplates) was actually something I was looking forward to when I took the job. I ordered a few switches and dove in… and immediately realized my house has wiring that’s basically trying to be a puzzle. One feature I didn’t even know about immediately caught my attention. The timer remembers the last time-setting I used. Picked 60 minutes last time? One click next time, and boom—60 minutes again. At first, I felt like I wanted to choose the time myself each time. But after a week, I had to admit… it’s brilliant. I use the same setting 99% of the time anyway, so now I basically have a very obedient little switch doing exactly what I want and I can simply hold the button to reset the switch.
I know a lot of people leave their outdoor lights on all night, but that’s not us. We’ve got solar yard lights and motion sensor lights on the side of the house, so leaving the front off isn’t a big deal. Deako, of course, is famous for smart lighting—you can dim, schedule, and control everything from the app. These features work wonderfully for any lifestyle, but as a dad of two kids whose schedules change by the hour, I wanted something simple for day-to-day use.
